Jaw inflamed after getting wisdom teeth extracted?

It has been a month and 5 days since i had my wisdom teeth removed. Now the right side of my jaw is hurting. It feels swollen, with a knot, not like there is pus there. It's not squishy like that. It hurts from about where my molars start back to where it connects with my skull. anyone have this? How did you get rid of it? Is it possible that i got food down in it and now it's inflamed? Or do you think it's infected?
