What is the strange red object about 20m long by the road near kaipara harbour, looks like a trumpet?

Flying around kaipara harbour, noticed an object that looked like a burgundy coloured trumpet, enormous, maybe 15-20 metres, mouth of trumpet flattened at each end but rotated by 90degrees from one end to the other. Cannot indicate exactly as don't have enough information from aerial photos to identify location precisely....
